Greasy Heel / Mud Fever
“I was very skeptical about the homeopath treatment at first”
Onyali is an eight-year-old Pure-bred Arabian Mare who has suffered from Greasy Heal/Mud Fever for the past seven Months. She had never suffered from this problem before. Over the seven-month period I had used numerous products to try and clear it up, including skin washes, iodine washes, pregnaderm, preddy powders, phenylbutazone and courses of penicillin injections. She had to be twitched to wash or scrub the leg as it had badly infected areas. She could not be kept in full worked, as the fetlock and pastern would swell. I kept the leg as clean as I could, clipped the white areas, bandaged it when she was worked and made sure it was kept dry.
Vet visits and many dollars later, the Greasy Heal was still there.
After the last consultation with the vet, I was to spray the infected area with another skin wash for three days and if con improvement they wanted to do skin scrapings and a biopsy. She reacted to this product and her leg swelled up over the knee, the skin blistered from the hoof up o the knee and she was lame!
That was the final straw. I had put my horse through too much and no sign of improvement.
I had seen as advertisement in Horse Deals for homeopath treatment for Greasy Heal/Mud Fever, The photos looked just like Onyali’s leg. I rang Robyn that night and she was very helpful. The treatment arrived a few days later in the mail. I was surprised how easy it was to administer. I must admit I was very skeptical about the homeopath treatment as first, how could a few drops put in Onyali’s mouth cure this condition?
Four days on the treatment and the swelling was almost completely gone! The Cream that was to be put on the infected scabs softened them and they started to come off easily. Twelve days later and I had her back in light work with no lameness. It has been four weeks since I first started her on the treatment and the swelling is gone, the scabs have cleared up and she is back in full work!
Thank you Robyn, I have my lovely Arabian Mare back!
